Baby Naming Ceremonies

Not everyone wants a traditional Christening or Baptism ceremony for their baby. A baby naming ceremony gives you the flexibility and the opportunity to celebrate the new addition to your family and welcome them into this world.

This unique and bespoke ceremony can be religious, non religious, spiritual or a mix of all.

It is a chance for all your family and friends to come together in a venue of your choice, indoors or outdoors to celebrate the birth of your child, to share hopes, dreams, wishes and aspirations and to officially name them with all the people that will be a part of their lives.

It's not just babies that can have this ceremony. It is a popular choice for adopted children and blended families as they welcome the child or children into their new family.
Although most commonly done for babies, older children can be involved as well. If you didn't get round to doing it when they were a baby or if you have had another child, the ceremony can be done to include both children.

There is no set script, format or itinerary. The ceremony is up to you. It can include grandparents, siblings, guide parents and other supporting adults. It can include readings, poems, music and unity rituals

• Two family meetings (up to 1.5 hours each) to discuss your plans in great detail.
• The creating and writing of your bespoke ceremony.
• Personal Whatsapp group to share ideas and keep up to date with plans.
• Supporting you to write your own promises/wishes for your baby.
• Sourcing poems, readings and music.
• Unity Ceremony 
• Officiating on the day. (1.5 hours before the ceremony and 30 minutes afterwards.
• Baby Naming certificate.
• A copy of your ceremony.
• I will only officiate your baby naming ceremony on the day. 

A baby naming ceremony can be held at a venue of your choice, either indoors or outdoors as long as you have the venue or landowners permission.

If you are planning on having your ceremony outdoors, it is important you have a plan B incase of inclement weather.

Additional costs not included in the standard fee;

• Mileage over a 20 mile round trip to the family meeting. 
• Mileage over a 35 mile round trip to the ceremony venue.
• Extra time on the day of the ceremony. 
• An extra family meeting.
• A rehearsal.
• Extra copies of the printed ceremony.
• Cost of staying over if 'out of town'.
• Cost of elements / resources for any unity rituals. (These are usually sourced, bought and paid for by the family.)
