Your Funeral or Memorial Service

What is a funeral or memorial service>

A funeral or memorial ceremony is probably one of the hardest, most emotional things you will ever have to do.

Saying goodbye is never easy.

I am here to support and guide you through this difficult  time and help you give your loved one the best ceremony we can.

Giving someone you love a bespoke, unique and individual ceremony and sending them on their final journey in a way that truly reflects them and the life they lived, can help to make this very difficult time a little bit easier.

It is a time to pay tribute, honour, reflect and say goodbye to your loved one.

I work in Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Solihull, Worcestershire, The Black Country and beyond.

I will also travel to other parts of the country but this will be reflected in the final cost.

Your Package

Your funeral ceremony package

  • We will have a family meeting to discuss your requirements and wishes for the ceremony. (up to 2 hours)
  • I will gently take you through a family questionnaire, where i will ask about your loved ones early life, education, employment, family, friends and more so I can build a picture and start to plan the ceremony.
  • We will discuss yours and your loved ones  wishes for the ceremony, the venue, readings, poems, hymns, music and tributes.
  • I will write the eulogy or support you in writing your own.
  • I will find readings, poems and music if you wish.
  • You will be able to read the eulogy, readings and poems before the ceremony and make any amendments, should you wish.
  • I will guide you through the amount of time you will have for the ceremony (if in a crematorium or other council approved venue) and advise appropriate content so the time is not exceeded.
  • I will officiate on the day of the ceremony. ( a standard 30 minute ceremony )
  • You will receive a printed copy of the ceremony.
  • I will be there for you from the time of our first meeting to after the ceremony.
  • You can contact me after the ceremony if you need any additional support or signposting to other organisations that can help with grief.

Your Venue

Why Celebrant Led?

Where can you hold a funeral or memorial ceremony?

Question

Does a funeral or memorial ceremony have to be in a crematorium or chapel?

The answer is very simply, No!

You don't need to follow the traditional route when saying goodbye to a loved one.

All Ceremonies that I do are heartfelt and will reflect the lives of your loved one. This includes ceremonies held in crematorium chapels. However, these will come with time constraints and other limitations.

Why not do something completely unique and have a ceremony in another type of venue. There are no legal restrictions where a ceremony can be held and below are just a few ideas.

  • A converted barn
  • A hotel
  • Your home
  • Your garden
  • Someone else's home
  • Someone else's garden
  • A village hall
  • A function room in a hotel or pub
  • A woodland
  • Green Burial sites
  • Caves
  • Castles
  • The allotment

The coffin can be present at the ceremony and then taken to the crematorium or burial site afterwards.

Not all venues or landowners will be happy to hold a funeral ceremony at their venue or site so you must make sure they know what the booking is for and have their permission.
